JINYINHUA Flos Lonicerae Jinyinhua is flower bud of Lonicera japonica Thunb, Lonicera hypoglauca Miq., Lonicera confusa DC. or Lonicera dasystyla Rehd., family Caprifoliaceae. It is extracted, removed impurity, vacuum dried, or spray dried to be made into powder by adopting modern scientific technology. Every g powder is equal to crude drug 2.6g.

Description
Slight-brown fine powder, delicate fragrance, mild and slight bitter in taste.

Property, taste and attributive meridian
Sweet in taste, cold in nature, and attributive to lung, heart, and stomach channels.

Function and Indication
Clearing away heat and toxic material, treating boils and swelling, eliminating pathogenic heat from the blood and treating diarrhea. For epidemic febrile disease and fever, noxious heat and dysentery with bloody stool, inflammation of the throat and quite a few kinds of infective diseases.

Chemical components
Flos Lonicerae mainly contains chlorogenic acid, isochlorogenic acid, flavonoid, triterpenes, volatile oil and inorganic element.

Pharmacological action

• Function of anti-pathogenic-micro-organism -  Anti-bacterium function: experiment research shows that Flos Lonicerae has inhibiting effect on many kinds of pathogen;  Anti-virus function: as to human embryo kidney primary simple epithelium cell tissue culture, Flos Lonicerae decoction (1:20) has inhibiting effect on influenza virus, and herpes virus
• Anti-inflammation and antipyretic effect
  Abdominal cavity injection Flos Lonicerae decoction 8g/kg, two times a day, for successive 6 days, has distinct inhibiting effect on inflammatory exudation of croton oil granulation cystis and granulation-tissue-formation.
• Effect on immune system: in vitro experiment, diluting Flos Lonicerae decoction to 1:1280 still can promote phagocytic function of white cells.
